Syfter Q&A at the Spring Party

April 07, 2017

Want to know more about what it's like to work with Syft?

On April 2 2017, we held a Spring Syfter Party at the legendary nightclub The Scotch of St. James for our hard-working Syfters! Drinks flowed, music played and a good time was had by all. Our office team also switched roles with our Syfters, and worked at the door, the cloakroom and behind the bar for the night! During this time, we also managed to have some quick chats with some of our workers to get to know them a bit better and see how they feel about Syft and the platform.

Why did you decide to work with Syft?
IMG_6058.jpg"Well, I saw an ad online for Syft almost two years ago and it seemed to be very helpful for students as their pay-per-hour was really good and higher than the traditional agencies as well as paying weekly too! After working more shifts with Syft, I began to make some really good friends there and we often do shifts together. We keep in touch, like a family."

Do you have any interesting stories from your time working with Syft?
"It has to be working on the Steam Dreams train; working with the fine dining on the train and travelling out of London made me feel like I was in the world of Harry Potter - also, being able to leave London for 4 days and seeing new things and having fun was a great experience.”

Can you sum up Syft in one word?
"Best - it's the best!"

Why did you decide to work with Syft?
"I was looking for part-time work and had just graduated but didn’t yet want a full-time job. I saw a Syft ad online and thought that it was too good to be true. I started my first few shifts and had a brilliant time - now I work full-time with a company that I started working for through Syft! I love the flexibility, the team in the office who care about the workers, the variety of working options and being able to meet different types of people."

IMG_6004.jpgWhy did you decide to work with Syft?
"My friend recommended the app to me and I started as I was looking for a second job. The timing, opportunities and money paid made it really worthwhile! The flexibility on offer and the £8.50 minimum helps to achieve close to living wages in London. The fact that you can work in so many places like the Tate Modern or the O2 Arena makes each shift really exciting.

Do you have any interesting stories from your time working with Syft?
"Definitely the Brit Awards Afterparty! It was crazy and little hard because of the amount of people but really fun to hang out with people like Ed Sheeran and Tinie Tempah. The catering team running the event were very friendly and supportive whilst the big crowds made it a lot of fun overall!"

"Summer 2016."

Why did you decide to work with Syft?
"I felt that it was the best option available; it’s better than other agencies because the website and app are very well laid-out, easy to understand and to book shifts; the flexibility that the work offers is convenient too."

Do you have any interesting stories from your time working with Syft?
"Well, I really enjoyed working with the Business Design Centre. They were really nice and though we finished late, the management were very supportive and looked after us with food and drinks after the shift!"

"April 2016."

Why did you decide to work with Syft?
"Syft was recommended to me through a friend - they told me that it was very easy to
sign up and get shifts so I decided to give it a try. At that time, I didn’t want to commit to a particular type of job and my friend mentioned that the jobs vary from location to location and that made it a really attractive company to work for."

"It's like a 3rd source of income for me as my other positions are working from home; the shifts at Syft give me the opportunity to get out of the house and decide on the work I want to do and feel less isolated. Because you’re not limited to one specific place or role, you get the chance to meet lots of different people. The pay is great and getting paid per week helps to get some extra income that can go towards luxuries."

Can you sum up Syft in one word?
"Flexibility."
